Brunch
Yesterday we had a brunch... the mom's got to visit and the kids played. It was nice to get to spend time with friends. This summer has just flown by and I haven't done a lot of the things I said I wanted to do. So.. last minute we had brunch. Crosby absolutely loved it. He is always asking... where's Charley... or every morning he says "I wanna see Betty and Tenedy (which is Becky and Kennedy... or he asks for Jacque... well yesterday he got to see them all at the same time. It was cute how excited he got. The other great part about yesterday is we actually got rain. Everyone else seems to get rain and we don't but yesterday we did. It was beautiful.

Summer Fun
It is the end of our summer and I actually post more... I figured I would be able to keep up this summer but I didn't. Cody and Troy have been playing a lot of tennis the last week. So... being Crosby who loves most all sports... he has been playing. It is pretty cute. He tries to hit the ball... sometimes he succeeds. He knows that the ball is supposed to come from across the net so he will tell you to get on the other side then he will throw the ball to you. The other night Cody and Crosby came in kind of late. Cody said Crosby just sat and watched 4 games. I was amazed Crosby would sit that long. He loves to play. Also, there is a picture of Jacque (our neighbor). She is older than Crosby but since he was born they have big buds. If we don't see Jacque and Amy for a couple days Crosby is asking me... I see Amy... I see Jacque. So, we go over and let the kids play while we visit. They only live a block away which is wonderful. Today Amy and Jacque rode their bikes over. After visiting for a bit we went on a bike ride. We went over a mile and Jacque peddled herself the whole time. So... of course the kids had to have a popsicle when we got home.
1st Sleepover
I know... it is crazy that Crosby is 2 and a half and has never stayed a night without his mom and dad. There are times Cody is on a trip or I am but he has always had his mom or dad. So, we decided that he needed to stay the night without us. We called our Randi and Sydni (and Tonya). Crosby loves them and they are great to him. Since Crosby has been born they have babysat him all but twice. They didn't babysit him then because they were out of town. When I picked Crosby up this morning he was telling me about how they fed the ducks and ate ice cream. It also rained so he played in the rain. That is what one of the pictures is of. The only time that he cried was when they told him he had to take a bath. All in all I think he had a wonderful time. He was still talking about it on the way home... especially the ice cream. I am sure Crosby is already ready to have a sleepover with them again. You are probably thinking... how did she take pictures if she was gone... I left my camera with them.

Harvest
I know harvest was about a month ago but I am not good at getting blogs done. One evening we had a girls night so Cody and Crosby were at home. They ended up going on the truck with Wade Harkey (Sammie's husband). I think Crosby had a great time. When I got home Crosby kept telling me he went on Wade's Biiig Truck. I think it is cute how he says big when he is talking about trucks. Then a couple days later Cody was helping Jay. Crosby and I went out to join Cody on the combine. Crosby loved it. He liked watching all the action with the wheat. He would watch it go into the header then stand up to watch the grain in the back. His dad even let him drive for a bit. All in all... he had a great time. It was cute how he would tell the grain cart driver hi when we were dumping... even though there was no way she could hear him. Now... we are ready for corn harvest to ride on the combine again. Every corn field we drive by he says "There's Jay's corn."

Exciting Weekend
This last weekend Cody and I were in a mini triathlon. I only trained for 10 days and Cody didn't at all. He ended up getting 6th and I got 8th. It only goes by men and women. Our brother-in-law puts it on and he did a great job. Also, a couple of our friends did it with us and there was one team from Texhoma. We went into it hoping we finished... but we did pretty good. It was fun because Kallie did it too and Becky, who is my exercising partner. Becky got 1st. We are excited to get to do it again... with more than 10 days of training. Then that evening was the big bbq in Gruver at the ranch. There were tons of people there and it is so nice to see people I only get to see once a year and others who I don't see very often. All in all we had a good but long day. Crosby was a trooper. He hung out with his Meems then played a lot at the ranch.

4th of July
We had an eventful week. Kaycee and Kynlee came up to visit. While here we went down and bought fireworks. Kennedy came over and we had a fun time setting of the fireworks. The smoke bombs were a hit with Crosby. One of the neighbors from down the street stopped by. I asked him if he came (with his boys) to watch the fireworks... he said no he wanted to watch Crosby. Crosby was so excited he was entertaining. Then on the actual 4th I had to be in Canyon and Cody had to help light the fireworks so Crosby got to stay with his Granny. Crosby's cousins (Nick and Will) set off lots of fireworks while Crosby watched. For Crosby it was a fun 4th. That night we were supposed to go over to our friends who have a little girl about the same age as Crosby but Crosby was so worn out from the eventful day we went home and went to bed.

Ice Cream
We have had an eventful summer filled with many guests which we have really enjoyed but I have not had a lot of time to update the blogs. One day I let Crosby have an ice cream cone which he loves. Then he went outside to play while he ate it. He came in to show me how the little figure was in the ice cream. I thought it was really cute so I had to take a picture. We have really been enjoying snow cones this summer too. I have learned to get the flavors that are white.
